MY STORY

20201023_093614 (1).jpg

I have been practicing registered massage therapy for the last 7 years in Nova Scotia. I grew up here, and both sides of my family have worked on this land for generations. I am learning more about how I am a guest on this land, which is the unceded Territory of the Mi'kmaq People.

I have a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Philosophy from Saint Mary’s University, and graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy with Honours in 2016.

I love my work and I am committed to deeply listening to what brings someone to my office. Whether it be pain, chronic illness, stress, anxiety, depression, or intense life events - any and all could bring you to massage therapy. It was through my studies and life experiences that I developed a passion for learning about the body, mind, and spirit and how they function. I believe that the body is always attempting to move intuitively toward health, and it is my role to facilitate that process with you.

I am committed to trauma-informed perspectives and strive to create a space that responds to my clients’ and communities’ wants and needs. I am also committed to community health and well-being and see individual healing connected to community and global healing. All need to be addressed for all of us to thrive. I believe that bodywork is essential to this.

My approach to massage is multi-faceted. I have multiple tools and will use what is needed each treatment based on what is presenting. From assessment skills to, to manual massage skills, therapeutic home exercises, to referrals. Together we will create a plan to best address what you are looking for.

Outside of treating people I am happiest being by the ocean, reading, biking around town and spending time with people I love.
